Welcome to the Shire of Würm Wald!

The Shire of Würm Wald is the local (Champaign-Urbana, IL) branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism. We are a "living history" organization, a non-profit international organization dedicated to researching and recreating pre-17th century European history.

Würm Wald was founded in 1972. We encompass all of Champaign county, and a bit of the surrounding area. In SCA terms, we are located within the Middle Kingdom. For an excellent visual aid, visit the Middle Kingdom Cartographer's map of the area and be sure to visit the Online SCA Demo, which gives a general overview of the SCA.
