The shire of Wurm Wald is proud to announce the launch of a new event! The Festival of Joseph of
Arimathea! An exciting new event for those who:
Didn’t get enough excitement at Pennsic and need more like an angry, hungry baby.
Those who didn’t go to Pennisc and need more SCA style fun.
Visit the new site HERE and see what it is all about.
The Shire of Würm Wald is the local (Champaign-Urbana, IL) branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism. We are a “living history” organization, a non-profit international organization dedicated to researching and recreating pre-17th century European history.
The SCA is incorporated as an educational organization and that is at the core of our mission. We do historical reenactment and martial arts inspired by medieval combat as well. Unlike U.S. Civil War or English Civil War reenactors we do not have “authenticity police” and we do not typically reenact specific battles. We allow members to follow their own interests to the extent they wish and are a nonsectarian organization open to all. We focus on keeping the arts of an earlier age alive and vital in the hands of people today. We strive create a “current middle ages” or “middle ages as they should have been”. That is to say a world with out the bigotry, disease and poor personal grooming habits of that era but with chivalry, fraternity and honor.
